Quality Systems Wins Contract for Job at Louisiana Hospital

Quality Systems Inc. said Thursday that it has been awarded a contract to provide a Louisiana hospital and its physicians with a computer system to monitor the progress of patients and help them to run their practices more efficiently.
The Tustin company’s contract with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital also is aimed at helping the hospital attract more physician groups to its facilities. The contract, valued at more than $150,000, is expected to bring in more revenue as more doctors sign on.
The system would link doctors’ offices to the hospital to provide computer updates on their patients’ conditions, said Robert J. Beck, Quality Systems’ executive vice president. The system also would provide such computerized management practice aids as treatment planning, medical records, appointment scheduling, insurance claims processing and patient billing.
