COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Arizona Keeps Guards Up to Beat No. 8 Oklahoma State

Arizona’s outstanding backcourt of Damon Stoudamire and Khalid Reeves was too much for eighth-ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon.
Stoudamire scored 22 points and Reeves had 18 at Phoenix to lead the No. 19 Wildcats past the Cowboys, 97-84.
Stoudamire scored 12 points in the first half as the Wildcats (3-0) took a 46-34 lead. Ray Owes, a 6-foot-7 junior from San Bernardino, had 16 for Arizona.
Oklahoma State (4-1) was led by Brooks Thompson’s 25. Seven-foot center Bryant Reeves was held to 12 points.
Boston College 78, Arizona State 74--Bill Curley made two free throws in the final minuteto seal the Eagles’ victory at Phoenix.
The Sun Devils led, 39-38, at halftime, but Boston College (4-0) took a 70-68 lead with less than three minutes left on Malcolm Huckaby’s three-pointer.
Ron Riley and Stevin Smith scored 19 points each for Arizona State (1-2).
Dwayne Fontana added 11 points with nine rebounds, and Isaac Burton scored 10. Huckaby finished with 15.
Stanford 69, UC Riverside 64-Dion Cross scored 16 points and Jim Morgan added a season-high 14 and 10 rebounds to lead the Cardinal (3-0) at Palo Alto.
It was the first loss for the Highlanders (4-1).
Riverside’s Bob Fife led all scorers with 17.
Florida State 80, Bethune-Cookman 70--Freshman Kirk Luchman scored 11 points in a 6:35 span late in the second half to help the Seminoles hold off the Wildcats.
Bob Sura led Florida State with 24 points.
