Pan Am World Air Trademark and Logo Auctioned: The blue-globe logo of Pan Am Corp., which once evoked images of exotic destinations and flying boats, fetched $1.3 million at auction in federal Bankruptcy Court in New York. Bidding for the symbols of Pan American World Airways, grounded since December, 1991, quickly rose from an opening offer of $300,000. The new owner, Eclipse Holdings Inc., said it plans to franchise the trademark to airlines linked in a worldwide Pan Am Alliance.
