OUTLOOK
Last year, the Lancers had to rely heavily on Michelle Hines. But she has graduated, and now Orange Lutheran will look to Weddick for leadership. Kempf, who enters his fourth year as coach, believes Weddick will provide the necessary spark; she received first-team all-league honors last season. Last year, Kempf thought his Lancers would be a title contender, only to see them fall short, finishing fourth with a league record of 6-6. He is a bit more cautious with his predictions this season--he’ll wait and see. Though the team lacks height, Kempf hopes quickness will make up for it. But the players must remain steady, and the intensity level must stay high. Also being counted on for consistency are the other two seniors, Washburn at forward and Schulz at guard.
