Astro Sciences Reports $95,881 2nd-Quarter Loss
Astro Sciences Corp., a Chatsworth maker of computer-communications products, reported a loss of $95,881 for its fiscal second quarter contrasted with a profit of $166,660 in the same period a year earlier.
In the latest quarter that ended Sept. 30, the company said its revenue was up 14%, to $2.8 million, from $2.45 million a year earlier. But A. C. Lubash, president and chief executive, said the loss was due partly to moving expenses and increased investment in research and marketing.
For the six months that ended Sept. 30, Astro Sciences posted a loss of $25,745, contrasted with a profit of $906,102 a year earlier. Its fiscal half-year sales totaled $5.41 million, up 9% from $4.97 million.
