If Zoe Baird had retained Alan Goldberg as her accountant, we might be calling her U.S. attorney general today.
When the uproar over Baird’s failure to pay taxes on her baby-sitter’s wages derailed the corporate attorney’s political appointment, Goldberg saw opportunity. He created Nanny Tax Inc., a New York-based concern that handles all tax and insurance-related bureaucracy.
“We don’t want them to do any work except signing checks . . .,” Goldberg said.
