OUTLOOK
The bad news is that the Warriors are a young team. The good news is that it might not matter. That’s how talented Woodbridge is this year. There are four girls without varsity experience, but Pearson, now a sophomore, was a starter last season and made second-team all-league; sophomore Tami Weaver, who started 15 games as Woodbridge adjusted to guard Flo Luppani’s injury, received honorable mention. Stovall is the most likely candidate to follow in their footsteps; she was an AAU All-American in 13-and-under age-group competition. Woodbridge has been dogged by four knee injuries the past three years. In addition to Luppani, forward Lisa Weaver sat out last season with a knee injury. If the Warriors don’t stay healthy, then a lack of depth might benefit the rest of the league. The front line of Burgess, Tami Weaver and Lisa Weaver should develop into one of the county’s best, if not tallest. Oenning, an outstanding shooter and competitor, was an all-section player, and her competitive nature won’t allow her teammates to let down.
