OUTLOOK

Gavel calls this potentially his best team since 1989, when the Spirits were 22-3 and went to the section semifinals. He is optimistic because of the size and experience Paraclete can put on the floor. Crozat, who averaged 8.6 points, and Carberry, at 10.1, were returning starters last season. Fullerton, Birk and Lindaman or Phelan will fill out the starting lineup. “We can pound the ball inside and we can also shoot the ball outside pretty well,” Gavel said. “We’ve just got to avoid being overconfident.” Gavel sees his team as the league favorite, with Mojave and Desert the providing the toughest competition.
