CAMARILLO : Arson Is Suspected in Trailer Blaze
Ventura County firefighters extinguished a trailer fire in a Camarillo parking garage early Monday that investigators believe was started on purpose.
It took five firefighters less than 10 minutes to quell the blaze, which broke out about 1 a.m. Monday inside a 16-foot camper trailer parked in a garage in the 900 block of Paseo Camarillo.
“It was fully involved on arrival,” said Camarillo Firefighter Greg Yates. “They could see it as they pulled up from the street.”
Witnesses told investigators they saw people running from the area shortly before the flames were discovered, prompting officials to suspect the fire was started deliberately. No arrests have been made.
Damage to the trailer, which officials suspect may have been abandoned, was listed at $1,500.
