LA HABRA : PTA Officer Selected to Finish Board Term
The Lowell Joint School District Board of Trustees has appointed a public school teacher and Macy Elementary PTA officer to replace a board member who died this summer.
Gayle K. Rogers, 44, will complete the four-year term of Joyce Canfield, who died in July. The term expires in December, 1994.
Rogers, who teaches in La Puente, was selected from eight applicants for Canfield’s post. She has been active in the parent-teacher associations at Macy Elementary and Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate schools, serving as Macy PTA president for two years.
The Lowell Joint School District serves about 2,800 students in parts of Whittier and La Habra.
Rogers will be sworn in at the board’s next regular meeting, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
