SOUTHERN SECTION VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS

In Division II:

Los Alamitos 3, Huntington Beach 2--The Griffins (22-1), rallied to win, 10-15, 8-15, 15-10, 15-7, 16-14 to advance to Saturday’s final against Fountain Valley.

The Oilers (16-6) took the first two games. Los Alamitos won the next two and took a 12-7 lead in the fifth game. But Huntington Beach came back to tie, 13-13, then reached match point on Wendt’s kill. But Los Alamitos got the side out and the next three points for the victory. Stacy Laitsch had 21 kills for the Griffins. Melissa Wendt had 30 kills for the Oilers.
