Best draw: Division X--Brethren Christian. Plays host to Rosamond (4-6), the only team with a losing record in the division, in the first round, and won’t face a league champion until the semifinals. Division XI--In an eight-team bracket, easy games are rare.
Worst draw: Division X--LA Baptist. The top-seeded Knights will face either league champion St. Genevieve or Calvary Chapel, a tough third-place team, in the second round. Division XI--Mammoth. No. 2-seeded team faces Arrowhead League co-champion Linfield.
Notes: Brethren Christian’s powerful ground game, led by quarterback Davis, and running backs Washington and Mark Stump, averaged 212 yards a game. The Warriors’ defense allowed only 154 yards a game. . . . The only blemish on Bishop Union’s record is because of a 14-14 nonleague tie with Yucca Valley, the Broncos’ first-round opponent.
