REAL ESTATE : Incentives to Keep Universal Alloy and More Than 200 Jobs in Anaheim
As part of an agreement announced Tuesday, Universal Alloy Corp. has signed a 15-year contract to remain in Anaheim, a move that retains more than 200 jobs in that city. A manufacturer of aluminum aircraft products, Universal Alloy decided to expand its existing 150,000-square-foot headquarters by 7,500 square feet. To persuade the company to stay, the city put together an incentive package that will save Universal an estimated $1.6 million in operating and building costs during the next few years. That package includes the reduction of utility costs by 10%, land and equipment-financing help and redevelopment assistance, according to Elisa Stipkovich, executive director of Anaheim’s Community Development Department.
