Sales Rise 12.4% in Early November: The report by auto makers on domestic cars and trucks extends the momentum of strength seen elsewhere in the economy. Car sales rose 13.1%, and light trucks were up 11.4%, led by year-to-year gains at General Motors Corp. Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp. each reported single-digit improvement in the Nov. 1-10 period. Combined Big Three sales were up 10.5%, while Japanese auto makers with factories in the United States reported a 29% sales improvement.
