Richard S. Oden; Founded Cal State Illustration Program

Richard S. Oden, 58, who for more than 30 years taught drawing at Cal State University Long Beach. Many of the graduates of the Illustration Program he founded have achieved recognition as newspaper and magazine cartoonists, commercial illustrators and artists. His clients included the Los Angeles Museum of Science and Industry, the Federal Reserve Bank, the National Football League, the Air Force and many film studios.
