THOUSAND OAKS : Youth Arrested in Attack on Girls
Police have arrested a 17-year-old Thousand Oaks boy in connection with a gang fight in which four teen-age girls were attacked with baseball bats.
Police said the boy, who was identified by witnesses as one of the gang members involved in Wednesday’s attack, is being held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The attack occurred after a group of gang members was overrun by a rival gang at Stagecoach Inn Park in Newbury Park, police said. The four girls were unable to retreat in time to avoid being assaulted with baseball bats, police said.
Two of the girls were treated for cuts and bruises.
The teen-ager is being held in Juvenile Hall, and police said they were continuing to search for other suspects.
