** Stephanie Davis, “Stephanie Davis,” Asylum. Davis only occasionally equals the songwriting skill she’s displayed in several songs recorded by Garth Brooks. Of the seven songs she wrote, “Just a Cup of Coffee” is the standout--a deft look at a woman trying to persuade herself that an old flame really has gone out. Her voice is part Alison Krauss delicacy, part Pam Tillis sass, but that’s not enough to make routine material memorable. New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
