Boy, 12, Hit by Car Is Critical

A 12-year-old boy was in critical condition after he was struck by a car while running across the street in Panorama City, Los Angeles police said.
The Van Nuys boy, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital with massive head and neck trauma, said Officer Karen Esparza.
The boy was crossing Parthenia Street near Vesper Avenue about 5 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a car traveling south on Vesper.
The 23-year-old driver of the car was not arrested, police said.
