COSTA MESA : Cleanup Day Will Be Held at Canyon Park
Residents wanting to get dirty for a good cause are being urged by city officials to sign up for “Park Cleanup Day” Saturday at Canyon Park.
The annual event, sponsored by the city and the Parks, Recreation Facilities and Parkways Commission, will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park, at 970 Arbor St. Volunteers will scour the park removing litter, debris and weeds. To spruce up the area, native shrubs, ground cover and trees will also be planted.
It is suggested that volunteers wear work clothes, including boots or heavy shoes. The city will provide hats, gloves, hand tools and refreshments. Volunteers are required to report to the sign-in area at the park entrance.
For more information on Park Cleanup Day or to volunteer, residents are asked to contact Bob Dahl at (714) 548-4165.
