COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCLA Knocks Off Northridge in First Round of Tournament

Missy Clements had 11 kills and Aimee Stone added 10 kills and six digs for Cal State Northridge, which fell, 15-10, 15-7, 15-2, to top-ranked UCLA (18-0) Friday night in the first round of the UCLA tournament.

Setter Gretchen Gulbranson had 31 assists for Northridge (9-12), which meets USC tonight at 7 p.m.

The Trojans (15-4) defeated Pepperdine, 15-11, 11-15, 15-13, 15-8 in the first round.

MEN’S WATER POLO

Ventura 15, Pierce 3--Eleven players scored for Ventura as the host Pirates emptied their bench early. Scoring two goals each for Ventura (23-9-1, 6-1) were Tyler Wiggins, Pedro de Lima, Tim Settem and Joe Stephens.

Ventura is ranked 11th in the state.
