Melita Baumann, Glendale College associate professor of child development, received the seventh annual Distinguished Faculty Award during a recent ceremony in the college’s Kreider Hall, where she presented a lecture on “The Battle Well Worth Fighting.”
Baumann was chosen for the honor by the school’s Academic Senate. She is the lead instructor and only full-time faculty member of child development instruction at the college, and helped establish the school’s 3-year-old Child Development Center.
In her speech, she encouraged people to get involved in child-care issues.
