GLENDALE : ‘Drive-Thru Flu Clinic’ Is Planned
Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center will offer free flu vaccinations to the elderly, who can receive their shots while sitting in their vehicle, officials said.
The hospital’s “Drive-Thru Flu Clinic†will run from 9 a.m. to noon today, for as long as supplies last, said Rima Avakian, hospital spokeswoman.
Those interested in getting vaccinated should drive to the front entrance to the hospital on Laurel Street. A staff person will then direct vehicles to the “drive-thru†line, where the flu shots will be given.
Staff came up with the idea for the clinic because they believed it would be convenient for the elderly. The hospital sponsored the same event last year.
Staff inside the hospital will also be available to assist those who prefer to park and obtain their vaccinations in the building.
