Antitrust Suit Filed Against British Airways: Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. took the action in U.S. District Court in New York, claiming $325 million in damages for unfair competition. Among its allegations, Virgin cited abuse by British Airways of its dominance and extensive network to manipulate travel agent and corporate programs, and incentives to deny Virgin business and limit consumer choice.
