As Evidence It’s Evident the Suspect’s New Suit Was Just Right for Court

FLINT, Mich. — The green double-breasted suit Michael Allen wore to court wasn’t a cool move. It got him into more hot water: The suit was hot.
Allen, 26, wanted to make a good impression on the judge during a hearing last week on charges of credit card fraud, auto theft and concealing weapons, stemming from a Sept. 24 house robbery.
“He’s wearing my suit,” the man whose house was robbed said during the hearing.
“Are you sure?” asked Mundy Township Detective Tom Hosie.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, suggested a check of the label in the jacket. The suit was custom-made and had a unique label. Sure enough.
Allen was then hit with a new charge, receiving and concealing stolen property. He was jailed in lieu of $2,000 bond.
The suit was seized as evidence. It didn’t fit anyway. Allen filled it out by wearing a sweat suit underneath.
