Westwood One to Buy Radio Networks: Westwood One Inc. said it intends to acquire the radio network business of Unistar Radio Networks, a unit of Infinity Broadcasting Corp., for $101.3 million. Under the deal, Infinity would acquire 5 million newly issued common shares of Los Angeles-based Westwood for $3 a share. It would also have the option to buy an additional 3 million shares at the same price. The sale is expected to be completed early next year and is subject to receipt of financing, approval by Westwood stockholders and regulatory approval. Westwood, the nation’s largest distributor of radio programs, is the parent company of Mutual Broadcasting System. Infinity Broadcasting owns and operates 22 radio stations in the nation’s biggest radio markets. Westwood shares rose $1 to $4.50 and Infinity stock gained $3.75 to $49.25, both on Nasdaq.
