Letters : Behind the Scenes

The article, “Behind the Scenes on a Luxury Cruise Ship” (Sept. 12) by Anne Kalosh impressed me as an interesting and very informative description of the crew’s life on a passenger liner.

I have met many such people and I’m always interested about life in their countries.

For example, on a sunny 70-degree January day I remarked to a Scottish girl that this would likely be considered a pleasant summer day in Scotland. Her reply: “We don’t have any pleasant summer days in Scotland.”
