Fast-food magnate Carl N. Karcher failed to meet his deadline to repay a $4.8-million loan to Santa Ana-based Commercial Center Bank, giving the bank the right to sell a 10th of the shares Karcher owns in the parent of the Carl’s Jr. fast-food company.
