COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Emmrich, Foltz Pace Golden West

Heidi Emmrich and Becca Foltz each had eight kills to lead Golden West to a three-game victory over Rancho Santiago on Wednesday in an Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball opener at Rancho Santiago.

The Rustlers won, 15-5, 15-5, 15-5. Chris Vega had eight kills for Rancho Santiago (2-3, 0-1).

Orange Coast 3, Cypress 0--Beverly Thackeray had 11 kills and Heather Ruhl had 43 assists for Orange Coast (2-2, 1-0) in a 15-5, 15-7, 15-12 victory.

Riverside 3, Fullerton 2--Lori Fuller had 12 kills and Jeanette Little had 30 assists for Fullerton in an 8-15, 15-10, 15-9, 9-15, 14-16 loss.

Moorpark 28, Golden West 14--Pablo Martinez of Golden West (4-2) defeated Jason Leagore at 167 pounds despite weighing in at 150 pounds.
