Fifteen girls have been selected to represent South County in national youth soccer competition.
Coach Pamela Williams said the team, called Splash, is for girls ages 10 to 12. They will travel to major tournaments that will be held in Hawaii, Michigan and California between now and July, when the world youth games are held.
The team’s selection and tournament calendar is in recognition of World Cup soccer play, which starts next year in the United States.
Williams said the team is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization and is one of two girls’ teams that will represent Orange County.
Sponsors are needed to help with uniform and travel expenses, Williams said. Those interested can contact Diane Klotz at (714) 240-3688.
