Board Blind to Illegal Immigration

It should be no surprise that the “just stay alive five” Orange County supervisors are all out of touch with the majority of Orange County’s legal residents about the negative impact of illegal immigration on our country. (Los Angeles Times shows 86% describe illegal immigration as a major or moderate problem with nearly three-fourths favoring the National Guard on the border.)

Surely the supervisors know that Orange County is part of California and we feel the impact in a greater way than any other in the Golden State except Los Angeles County. How out of touch can they be? Maybe it is because two of them are retiring, goodby Car Fender Banger Harriett (Wieder) and the General Tom (Riley), one is trying for higher office, one is a don’t-rock-the-boat-with-Latinos type and the other is running for a full term on his own.

We must have elected officials who will stand up and be counted. The grand jury report was one effort to address the concerns of the majority of Orange Country residents on illegal immigration. What is wrong with that?

No wonder our county budget is broke and our sheriff has to go throughout California lobbying for Proposition 172 so his department can continue operating while the supervisors stick their head in the sand and fail to do their job, which is to provide the funds for public safety, protecting us. If they would just stop the drain of funds by illegals we would not need Proposition 172. Well, since two are retiring why not all of them? They are elected to represent us, not neglect us. This kind of inaction makes term limits for county-elected politicians a must.
