Urich’s Long Run

Re “Robert Urich: Television’s Ever Ready Actor” (Sept. 15): How many chances does Urich get? As many as his batting average earns him.
So he has starred in 10 TV series. Ten times in Urich’s career, a network has chosen his series over all the others vying for that spot on the schedule. How many people can make this statement?
Urich arrives on time--whether it be a Hollywood sound stage or a freezing corner in Boston in January--fully prepared and with a thoughtful and interesting approach to the scene at hand, whether it be light comedy or heavy drama.
As for “semi-successful” shows that only last three seasons, go back to the batting averages and see how many shows that premiered two years ago are coming back on the air this fall.
I have worked with Urich on and off all during his career from “SWAT” to “Tabitha” to “Spenser: For Hire,” and I look forward to the time when our paths cross next.
