Sneaker Counterfeiters Reportedly Caught: LA Gear said raids on Chinese factories yielded 15,700 counterfeit sneakers in the last two months. The two raids, made in conjunction with Chinese trade officials, followed a five-month investigation, the company said. The first raid was at Zhangjiagang Foreign Trade Corp., an exporter, and the Anhui Taili Factory. More than 15,000 pairs of fake LA Gear Workout shoes were seized, along with corresponding documents, LA Gear said. The second raid, at the Zhan Tu shoe factory, led to the seizure of 700 pairs of shoes and 1,500 shoe boxes bearing the LA Gear trademark, LA Gear said.
