OUTLOOK: After leading Duarte to the Division VI championship game, Rau returns to the league where he helped La Habra win four league titles from 1982 to 1988. McDonald, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards as a first-team all-league running back last season, will switch to quarterback to trigger Rau’s option offense. Rau’s last quarterback, Greg Ainsworth, earned co-Division VI player of the year honors last season. Sibrie, who should be one of the top linemen in the county, and Allen return after earning first-team all-league honors on defense last season. With the Coyotes’ balance, some league coaches peg Buena Park as the team to beat. “I’m comfortable saying we’ll be pretty good,†Rau said.
