United Way Appoints Interim President
An interim president will oversee operations at United Way of Ventura County until the agency finds a permanent replacement, the organization announced Monday.
Don Yunker, 53, a retired district manager for Chevron USA in Ventura, will assume the post in mid-September, when United Way’s current president, Colleen Hunter-Hancock, steps down, spokeswoman Sandy Slagle said.
The umbrella agency, which has operated in the county for 48 years, distributed $5.3 million to 59 charitable groups throughout the county in 1992, Slagle said.
Among its beneficiaries are the American Red Cross, Clinicas, the American Cancer Society and Catholic Charities.
