Glendora : Doctor to Be Arraigned
A urologist charged in the alleged rape of a drugged patient in his Glendora office will be arraigned Monday in Los Angeles, his attorney said.
Dr. Charles Metzger, 47, who denies the charges, will surrender to authorities Monday morning, attorney Steven Mandell said.
A West Covina woman alleged that she was raped Jan. 11, Glendora police said. She said she was seeing Metzger for complications relating to kidney surgery.
Charges were filed Wednesday after a DNA test comparing semen taken from the victim with that of the doctor came back positive, Glendora police Detective Brett Mickelson said.
Mandell said his client was “chaperoned” by a nurse at all times during the patient’s visit and that the woman “is suing two or three other doctors.”
The woman acknowledged that she had settled a lawsuit against another doctor out of court.
