DANA POINT : City Seeks Applicants for 4 Commissions

Officials are seeking applications from residents interested in filling vacancies on the city’s Cultural, Traffic Improvement, Human Services and Economic Development commissions.
Each applicant must be a resident and registered voter of Dana Point. Applications for the following positions are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 1 at City Hall:
* Four seats are available on the Cultural Commission. The commission is responsible for surveying existing cultural facilities and activities, analyzing the feasibility of developing a cultural center, examining the effect of cultural events and attractions on the city’s economy, and making recommendations to the City Council about sponsorship of cultural events.
* Three seats are vacant on the Traffic Improvement Commission, which advises the council on transportation issues.
* Four seats are vacant on the Economic Development Commission, which advises the City Council on issues involving the creation, maintenance and administration of local economic development programs.
* Four seats are available on the Human Services Commission, which helps serve as a liaison between residents and the City Council on issues involving service needs within the community.
