Chinese Bankers Stole $28 billion, Hong Kong Newspaper Says: The South China Sunday Morning Post, citing an internal report prepared by China’s central bank, said the theft of state funds might be the nation’s biggest corruption scandal in history. The paper said at least 80 banking officials had left the country by the end of July and another 10 had followed since. The allegations emerged amid a Communist Party anti-corruption drive.
