* Hugh W. Pendleton has been appointed vice president of finance for Western United Insurance Co., a Newport Beach automobile insurance underwriter. Before his promotion, he was senior financial analyst. He joined Western United earlier this year after serving as president and founder of Pendleton & Associates, a CPA firm. In addition, Marie M. Christensen has joined Western United as assistant controller. She was formerly a senior auditor with Ernst & Young.
