Diana Holman-Hunt; Art Critic Wrote Memoirs of Family
Diana Holman-Hunt, 78, art critic and author of acclaimed memoirs of her artistic family. Her paternal grandmother was the widow of William Holman-Hunt, who founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848 with fellow painters John Everett Millais and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Holman-Hunt, noted for his religious paintings, was the subject of his granddaughter’s second book, “My Grandfather, His Life and Loves,†published in 1969. In 1974, she published “Latin Among Lions†about the Chilean painter Alvaro Guevara. Her first book, “My Grandmothers and I,†was published in 1960. In London on Tuesday of unreported causes.
