STANTON : 13 to Be Interviewed for City Manager Job
The City Council today will consider 13 applicants for the vacant city manager position and rank them for interviews, according to Councilman Harry M. Dotson. “There are some excellent candidates,†he said.
Two of the applicants are women, Dotson said, and many of the applicants have experience as city managers or assistant city managers.
The Los Angeles search firm Norman Roberts & Associates has been looking for someone to fill the post left vacant when former City Manager Terry Matz left in March for a job in Agoura Hills.
Interim City Manager Stephen B. Julian has accepted a job as interim city manager of Dana Point and will begin work there today. But he said he will continue to work part time for Stanton until the new city manager is hired.
Dotson said the council wants to interview all the applicants by Sept. 1 and hire someone soon after that.
