SIMI VALLEY : Volunteers Sought for New Street Panel
- Share via
Simi Valley officials are looking for volunteers to serve on an advisory committee that will develop a plan to let individuals and businesses help pay for the upkeep of major city streets.
The committee will be comprised of two citizens, two business representatives, two city staffers and Councilwoman Barbara Williamson. Officials estimate the group will need to hold three night meetings to arrive at its recommendation to the City Council.
The council Aug. 2 agreed to form the committee and pursue the so-called, “Adopt a City Landscape Area” program, which is modeled after the state’s successful “Adopt a Highway” initiative.
Citizens interested in volunteering should contact the city’s Public Works Department at (805) 583-6793 and complete an application by Aug. 16. Appointments to the committee will be made by the City Council.
