Apartment Fire Leaves 4 Homeless
SANTA CLARITA — Four people were left homeless by an early-morning fire Sunday that swept through a Santa Clarita apartment building, fire officials said.
The two-alarm blaze, which began at 5:22 a.m., destroyed two apartments at the complex at 27077 Hideaway Ave., according to Christa Tolliver, a Los Angeles County fire dispatcher supervisor.
Forty firefighters from 10 companies extinguished the blaze in 25 minutes as Red Cross workers attended to the displaced residents.
No one was injured, Tolliver said.
