LOCAL NOTES
Paul Wright, leading scorer in the American Professional Soccer League, will join the Baltimore Spirit of the National Professional Soccer League for the 1993-94 season, but will remain the property of the Salsa.
In an unusual move, Wright will play the rest of the summer for the Salsa before being loaned to Baltimore for the winter. Wright will then return to the Salsa next summer.
“Paul Wright is an impact player,” Rick Davis, Salsa general manager, said. “We thought it would be beneficial to have Paul play indoors during our down time and it is also something Paul wants to do.”
Wright has scored 23 points this season, nine goals and five assists.
