GM’s Opel Seeks Retraction from VW: Further dialogue between the two auto makers over charges that Volkswagen is using stolen information must await an official retraction from VW, said Adam Opel, a GM unit. Opel seeks retraction of allegations that GM could have tampered with evidence in an investigation of VW production chief J. Ignacio Lopez de Arriortua, as well as statements that GM is using German prosecutors to defame VW and that GM may have planted secret, incriminating data in VW’s computer system. GM has accused Lopez, a former employee, and seven other former employees who went with him to VW of stealing documents.
