Defensive end Bruce Smith of the Buffalo Bills has agreed to a contract. He was seeking a contract similar to the four-year, $17-million deal Reggie White received from the Green Bay Packers. . . . Linebacker Pepper Johnson came to the New York Giants’ camp a week late, $28,000 poorer in fines and ready to walk out if necessary. He wants to renegotiate his contract, which will pay him $1.2 million this season. . . . Six-time Pro Bowl kicker Morten Andersen of the New Orleans Saints signed a contract reportedly worth $4.2 million over four years. . . . Cowboy tight end Alfredo Roberts suffered a broken foot during a passing drill and will be sidelined for at least eight weeks.
