Longtime member David Lopez-Lee will head the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees for the 1993-1994 school year.
Lopez-Lee, returning to a post he held three years ago, was unanimously elected president at the seven-member board’s annual reorganization meeting. Trustee and past President Julia L. Wu was chosen as vice president of the board.
Lopez-Lee and Wu replace trustees Wallace Knox and Kenneth Washington, respectively. Both men remain on the board, which oversees the district’s nine campuses and 118,000 students.
Elizabeth Garfield, Knox’s wife, was sworn in as the board’s newest member. Garfield defeated incumbent Patrick Owens in a runoff election last month.
