In Brief
* * * Taylor Dayne, “Soul Dancing,” Arista. Dayne’s labelmate Lisa Stansfield has gotten mileage from her Barry White-style sound. On her first album in nearly four years, Dayne does her one better, with a campy, deluxe version of White’s “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love.” On this 11-song collection, Dayne’s exaggerated enunciation and overblown, diva-style soulfulness have never been put to finer use.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
