Driver Strikes, Kills Bicyclist
SANTA ANA — A driver struck and killed a man on a bicycle in an intersection Tuesday afternoon and then careened into a nearby tree, police said.
Police had not identified the bicyclist late Tuesday, said Lt. Earl Porter.
Police said the driver, who had two children in the car, collided with the bicyclist at Flower Street and McFadden Avenue about 5 p.m.
“Something happened so that she apparently swerved (into the bicyclist) and then hit a tree,†Porter said. Porter said no one in the car suffered serious injuries.
