General Dynamics to Trim Space Unit Jobs: The company’s Space Systems Division will cut 300 jobs, freeze or reduce pay for salaried workers and drop at least six vice presidents this year, management told employees in a letter. Workers of the San Diego-based unit received the letter Monday from Michael Wynne, division president. Space Systems, the only Southland unit that General Dynamics has identified as part of its ongoing business, employs about 4,200 people, including about 2,800 in San Diego.
