While Dad Is Away, Trout Makes Son’s Day

Justin Robinson, 12, of Hawthorne was fishing with his father at Big Bear Lake when dad pulled the boat over to the SS Relief, a floating restroom.

While dad was inside, Justin hooked a 6-pound 8-ounce rainbow trout--the lake’s second-largest catch of the week.

At Lake Isabella, John Worthed of Bakersfield hooked a catfish, and then a five-pound largemouth bass went for the catfish. It equaled that lake’s largest bass catch of the week.
